Where’s it all gone? – That’s what I think to myself every time I visit the Grand Exchange. Bloody nightmare. If you find yourself under the same money tree as me (an empty one!), then this is the guide for you!

We’re going to be explaining the three best methods for making money for players who’ve just started, players who’ve made their mark on Gielinor, and for those well-versed warriors among us.

Low-level / starting – Members Guide

So you’ve just started? Maybe you’ve put a few hours into running around Runescape, getting lost? Now you find yourself in need of gold? Well look no further, below I explain three methods which you can access without any level requirements to help you make some starting RS3 gold!

The benefit of these methods? Most lead to you gaining levels at the same time!

Method 1 – Gathering resources

There are seven gathering skills in Runescape: Mining, Fishing, Woodcutting, Farming, Hunter, Archeology, and Divination. These skills are excellent as a starting player to focus on, as you collect resources to level up your skills.

This means you can sell these resources to other players to make a nice profit. Of course, the higher your respective level, the more valuable resources you’ll be able to gather, and therefore sell for more gold.

Method 2 – Artisan Skills

Artisan skills are trained by using gathered resources to make into other useful items. For example, to cook your raw fish into edible food.

Players who require these items will pay a lot of gold for them just to save the time involved to create them. There are eight Artisan skills. These include:

• Herblore,
• Crafting,
• Fletching,
• Smithing,
• Cooking,
• Firemaking,
• Runecrafting,
• Construction.

Of these skills, Firemaking and Construction yield minimal cash, so we suggest avoiding these skills if your main aim is to make some nice RuneScape gold!

Method 3 – Start training combat levels through Slayer tasks (collect the loot)

Slayer is a skill that is known to provide a steady source of income at high levels. That doesn’t mean it isn’t just as high when you start. Focussing your energy on completing lots of slayer tasks can be highly rewarding, especially if you make sure to collect and sell all of the items dropped by monsters (including their bones)!

Through completing Slayer tasks, you’ll also start to increase your combat level. Therefore be able to kill even more difficult monsters – this will help to grow your character into a hardened battle warrior, ready to make even more RS3 gold.

Mid-level – Members Guide

You’ve got yourself some levels, and maybe you’ve even managed to save a little bit of RuneScape gold so you could treat yourself later? These next three money-making methods work well if you can spend a little bit of gold to get them going. The return on these methods greatly outweighs the investment you’ll put it, given a bit of time.

Method 1 – Slayer (collect the loot)

Okay, you’ve probably noticed the common theme here, right? Kill things, then kill them again. And perhaps slay them a third time, just in case. I’ll repeat my earlier message and state that it’s no secret that Slayer is a highly valuable skill at higher levels. By this point, you’ll hopefully have grown your combat and Slayer skills, and that means bigger, meaner scarier tasks.

Make sure that you invest some of your well-earnt gold back into your character, improving your gear will mean quicker kills and more Gp/hour. Also important is to be collecting slayer tasks from the correct Slayer master, depending on your combat level. These are listed below:

Method 2 – Vis Wax (requires: 50 Runecrafting)

Vis Wax is a gathering task that can be completed once per day. Players use vis Wax for many reasons, including for quick teleports and to extend or reset an aura. This makes it very valuable and very profitable.

Collecting your 100 daily Vis Wax takes around 5 minutes, so there is no reason for you not to receive it! At the time of writing, 100 Vis Wax can be sold on the Grand Exchange for about 1,000,000gp!

That’s an excellent steady 1m Gp per day; must be magic!

To collect your daily Vis Wax, head on over to the Wizards Tower (your Wicked Hood can teleport you here quickly!) and jump straight to the top floor – head through to the Runecrafting Guild! Interact with the Rune Goldburg machine shown below, and feed it some runes! You’ll need to play about (or google) to find the answer for that day, as it changes at midnight GMT each.

Always aim to collect as many Vis Wax as possible to earn as much money as possible!

Method 3 – Player-Owned Farms

Have you ever done an honest day’s work? No? Well, you’re going to want to start now!

Player-owned Farms (PoF) allow you to nurture, grow, and gather from your very own Runescape pets – ranging from bunny rabbits and cows to dragons! Get your green-fingered gloves on and head over to Granny Potterington near the Ardougne Lodestone.

Your animals will passively produce lots of resources (and maybe even a baby animal or two), which you can gather daily and sell on the Grand Exchange for a nice profit, all while leveling your farming skill. What’s not to love?

High level – Members Guide

Got some 99’s? Got some serious cash? Want more? Then this is the section for you. Find below three methods which can net your upwards of five million gold per hour of playing.

Method 1 – Bossing (solo)

Killing bosses can be difficult, the learning curve is steep, but the chance at a rare drop makes it worthwhile. Most bosses have a decent, consistent drop table, meaning that through just repetitively killing them, you make a few millions of RuneScape gold per hour.

But it’s really that ever sought after rare drop you’ll be looking for, these rare drops will sell for anywhere upwards of 15m each, depending on what they are.

There are a few things you can do to increase your likelihood of receiving a rare drop, most commonly, is expanding your Luck to level 4. The easiest way to do this is to invest in a Luck of the Dwarves ring – Okay, yes, it’s 50m to buy on the Grand Exchange, but trust us, you’ll make that back after around 10 hours of bossing.

Method 2 – Elite Dungeons (group task)

You’re now in the ‘Elite’ rankings. You need to show off, and what better way than to complete dungeons with other Elite players? You’ll want to make sure you have the best gear available to you for these dungeon runs, to be able to best support your team, and therefore complete more Dungeon runs in a shorter space of time. This will mean more loot, more profit.

You should be able to make full use of the invention skill before attempting Elite dungeons, making sure to augment your armors and weapons and equip them with the best perks available.

Completing Elite dungeons with an excellent team should yield around 6-10m/hr.

Method 3 – Flipping items on the Grand Exchange (High risk)

Flipping items is, in its explanation, relatively simple. You buy items at a lower price than you sell them. You need to be aware that the Runescape market is a constantly shifting market, much like that of the real stock market.

Are you having an ‘out of money’ experience? Then this is the guide for you! We’ll be taking a brief look at several OSRS money making methods, ranging from low, middle, and high-level techniques. This means that no matter where you are in your OSRS career, you’ll likely be able to apply one or more of these methods to grow your pockets!

Low-level / starting – Members Guide

As a low-level account, you’re probably looking not only to make OSRS gold but also to progress your account at the same time. These first three OSRS money-making techniques do just that, we’ll focus on methods which lead to you gaining levels too! What’s not to like?

Method 1 – Gathering resources & creating items

There are five gathering skills in OSRS: Mining, Fishing, Woodcutting, Farming, and Hunter. Method 2 – Killing Chaos Druids (requires: about 20 combat)

Location: Edgeville dungeon (warning: this method involves going into the Wilderness, where other players may be able to attack you).
Requirements: Weapon & Armour, Food, suggested level 20 combat and at least a mithril weapon.

For our next two methods, we’re going to focus on collecting loot, which is dropped by monsters. Killing the monsters around Gielinor can yield a lot of profit, as players are willing to pay large amounts of gold on the Grand Exchange for these, as this saves them time.

When killed, Chaos Druids drop lots of ‘noted’ herbs. These herbs will stack in your inventory, and therefore you can stay here for as long as your hitpoints allow (bring food!).

Method 3 – Killing Lava Dragons (requires: 35 magic)

Location: Level 51 Deep Wilderness (warning: this method involves going into the Wilderness, where other players may be able to attack you).
Requirements: Runes & Armour, Food, suggested level 35 magic to use the Fire Bolt spell.
about 400k GP per hour

Much like the Chaos Druids, Lava Dragon’s are also found in the Wilderness, where other players may attack you. As Lava Dragons can be found in the deep Wilderness, the chance of others attacking you is much higher. We suggest hovering your mouse over the ‘log out’ button while training here. This is so that should be a nasty, mean, evil, PK’er (player killer) come along, then you can disappear in a ‘poof’ of nothingness!

While at the Lava Dragons, you should collect as much of the drops as possible, pay particular attention to the dragon bones, as these are worth a lot of gold (don’t bury them!).

The Lava Dragon shown above can be ‘safe spotted’ with your magic spell lava bolt. This means that the dragon won’t be able to hit you if you get it caught on the tree!

Mid-level – Members Guide

Method 1 – Blast Furnace: Making Steel Bars

around 450000 gold per hour
materials required: about 2600 coal and iron ore per hour, about 15000 gold coins per hour

The Blast Furnace is a relatively AFK-able method for money-making and provides a decent amount of Smithing experience while you’re smelting your bars. Once you reach level 30 smithing, you’ll gain access to steel bars. These can be made with just one coal and one iron at the Blast Furnace. This is because, at the Blast Furnace, all coal costs for smelting are halved. This saves you a tremendous amount of gold in your production costs.

Method 2 – Killing Green Dragons

around 700000 gold per hour

Green Dragons can be found in around level 25 of the Wilderness. They’re not too difficult to kill, especially if using a dwarven multi cannon. While the consistent drops here provide around 700000 gold per hour, the best prizes are the possibility of a Hard or Elite Clue Scroll. Completing these Clue Scrolls awards typically around 1 million gold worth of loot.

Method 3 – Gathering Red Chinchompas

around 800000 gold per hour

At level 63 Hunter, you’ll be able to use your box trapping skills to gather Red Chinchompa’s. Many players use these as a quick way to train their ranged skills; therefore, they sell well on the Grand Exchange.

OSRS High-level – Members Money-Making Guide

Method 3 – Gathering Red Chinchompas

around 800000 gold per hour

At level 63 Hunter, you’ll be able to use your box trapping skills to gather Red Chinchompa’s. Many players use these as a quick way to train their ranged skills; therefore, they sell well on the Grand Exchange.

Method 1 – Blast Furnace: Making Adamant and Runite Bars

around 600000 gold per hour for making adamant bars
around 750000 gold per hour for making Runite bars
materials required (adamant bars): around 7800 coal and 2600 adamant ore per hour, about 60000 gold coins per hour
materials needed (Runite bars): around 10400 coal and 2600 Runite ore per hour, around 75000 gold coins per hour

That’s right, it’s back to the Blast Furnace! This time we strongly suggest bringing along your ‘coal bag’ to aid with the vast amounts of ore you’ll need to transport into the furnace! The coal bag allows you to store much more coal in just a single slot of your inventory, therefore increasing your smelting speed.

Method 2 – Bossing

OSRS bonds

Bonds work in both Runescape 3 and OSRS and can be purchase and redeemed with either Runescape gold, in-game, or with real-world money from the Runescape website.

Magic in OSRS

Magic makes up one of the three combat styles used in OSRS. In this osrs guide, we will cover the fastest methods of training the skill from 1 to 99. In addition, to some alternative methods for training the skill to offer variety.

Fastest Magic Exp Methods

Below you can find a list of the best methods for training the magic skill in osrs in terms of overall account efficiency.

Questing: level 1 – 34

Early levels of magic can be skipped entirely, simply by completing a few quests. Witch’s Potion and Imp Catcher will get you to level 10, they are both extremely short quests.

Furthermore, The Grand Tree, Fairytale I – Growing Pains, Watchtower and the Lumbridge Guide subquest of Recipe for Disaster will boost your magic up to level 34.

Killing Crabs: level 1 – 55

You can do this method from level 1 or 34 if following the previous advise to do questing early. Killing crabs with combat spells is super easy. These monsters are aggressive, which allows you to go afk for up to 10 minutes with auto-retaliate on.

Crabs have High hp, low defence and low offensive stats. It is however, recommended to have at least 30 defence. Crabs can be found in the following locations:

• Rock Crabs on Relekka.
• Sand Crabs on Hosidius
• Ammonite Crabs on Fossil Island

Passive Training Methods for Magic in OSRS

Once you hit level 55, magic is now most efficiently trained while doing other activities and is therefore considered to be trained as “zero time”. The hourly experience in magic is often not the best because of this.

If you do want pure magic experience then the fastest method would be barraging/bursting Maniacal Monkeys which is discussed below.

High Level Alchemy: level 55+

Cast the high level alchemy spell at level 55 onwards. Use the spell on various items to turn them into coins. Look for items on the Grand Exchange that will result in profit and that you can buy large volumes of. Longbows and such as usually good items. Look for whatever is the cheapest or most profitable that you can buy many of at that time.

Use the spell while questing, doing melee combat, training agility, between farm runs or birdhouse runs and more.

Bake Pie Spell: level 65+

Lunar Diplomacy quest must be complete for access to Lunar Spellbook to cast this spell. The spell offers fast cooking experience, in addition to a good amount of passive magic experience. Gain up to 113,000 magic experience per hour with this spell.

Magic Imbue: level 82+

Lunar Diplomacy quest also required for this spell. This is mainly used for runecrafting lavas, as it negates the players need for talismans. The spell can only be cast once every 21 ticks, so slow experience, maxing out at 24k per hour.

Slayer: level 70+

Slayer is one of the best ways to train Magic. It is efficient for both skills and you can receive high experience rates in each using the burst or barrage spells. Monster drops also make it so a lot of the tasks you do will at minimum break even in most cases, when accounting for supply costs.

Maniacal Monkeys: level 70+

The method requires partial completion of Monkey Madness II, until the player reaches Kruk’s Dungeon. These monkeys are in a multi-combat area, whereby many of them will attack you, they have low defence, long aggression range and reasonably high hp.

Using Ice burst players can expect around 310,000 experience per hour. Scaling to 400,000 exp per hour in magic with ice barrage at level 94. This is the best option if you do not wish to train the skill passively.

Range Training in OSRS

The range skill makes up one of the 3 primary attack styles for PVM in OSRS. This article will provide the best osrs guide on how to efficiently train the skill from 1 to 99. Showing you the fastest method, in addition, to a range of strong alternatives.

General Ranged Training Notes

• Always use the rapid attack style
• Always use gear with the highest offensive stats in range for training. Elite void range is best against low defence monsters due to its damage-boosting effect. Masori, Armadyl, Crystal and black dragon hide become better when monsters have increased defence. For training purposes you want to fight low defence monsters for maximum exp. It is not worthwhile to get elite void ranged purely for range training. However, it is an important set for any account to have so it may be worthwhile getting early. Void is seen with uses at places such as Vorkath, the Theatre of Blood and more.
• Complete Animal Magnetism quest as soon as possible. This will unlock the Ava’s Device, worn in the cape-slot this item will return your ammo.

Fastest Ranged Experience

Below you can find the fastest methods to reach 99 ranged in old school runescape.

Questing: level 1 – 32

Completing Death to the Dorgeshuun, Shadow of the Storm and Horror from the Deep will get the player from level 1 to 32.

Dwarf Multicannon: level 1 – 45

This method requires completion of the quest Dwarf Cannon. After the quest is complete you will unlock the Dwarf Multicannon. The cannon can deal damage up to a max of 30 and can hit multiple targets at once. Making it a great option at low levels.

Use the cannon in places such as Rock Crabs, Sand Crabs or Ogres.

Chinning Maniacal Monkeys: level 45 – 99

Using Chinchompas to train range is by far the fastest method for ranging experience in the game. The best place to do this is at Maniacal Monkeys, located in Kruk’s Dungeon on Ape Atoll. This will require the player to have at least started chapter 2 of the Monkey Madness II quest.

Elite void ranged is the best armour to use here due to the monkeys low defence and the armours damage boosting effects. Experience rates are shown below based on the use of elite void ranged and Rigour. Eagle eye as opposed to Rigour would lower rates by around 5-7%.

Alternative Training Methods for Range in OSRS

Methods such as Chinning can be very expensive and not everyone will want to unlock requirements such as Monkey Madness II. Therefore, you can find some strong alternatives listed below

Killing Crabs: level 1 – 45/70

Killing Rock, Sand, Swamp and/or Ammonite Crabs offers a cheap and afkable method to training the ranging skill. They all have high hitpoints, low defence and low offensive stats, making them perfect for low level training. It is recommended to have at least 30 defence. You can find each crab in the following locations:

• Rock Crabs on Relekka.
• Sand Crabs in Hosidius.
• Swamp Crabs on the south-east side of Port Phasmatys.
• Ammonite Crabs on Fossil Island.

Nightmare Zone: level 70 – 99

This method allows players to be AFK for up to 20 minutes, before the player will stop auto-retaliating to monsters. Use the customisable rumble setup. Players can receive up to 70,000 experience per hour using a magic shortbow (i), rune arrows and super ranging potions. You can get higher rates with the Blowpipe, however, it is not worthwhile due to the significant supply cost increase.

The best monsters for afkable experience are:

• King Roald (What Lies Below)
• Count Draynor (Vampire Slayer)
• The Kendal (Mountain Daughter)
• Sand Snake (The Depths of Despair)
• Trapped Soul (The Ascent of Arceuus)

Train Ranged with Slayer: level 75 – 99

The Toxic Blowpipe is unlocked at 75 range. While it is not efficient to train slayer using a Toxic Blowpipe, it may be something you wish to do if you do not value gaining melee or magic skill experience. You benefit from the Slayer Helmet (i) and its ability to grant 15% damage and accuracy boost to range. However, the blowpipe is also expensive to use so it is worth taking this expense into account when deciding if you wish to use this method.

Runecrafting Training in OSRS

Runecrafting has long been one of OSRS players most hated skill. This is often because it can be a tedious and slow process to reach level 99. Making it one of the more prestigious skill capes in osrs.

Questing: level 1 – 33

The early levelling of runecrafting can be extremely slow, therefore, it is highly recommended to do quests to receive their rewards early. To reach level 33 players should complete the following quests:

• The Ascent of Arceuus
• The Eyes of Glouphrie
• The Slug Menace
• Temple of the Eye
• Enter the Abyss miniquest

Lava Runes: level 23 – 99

Crafting Lava runes is the fastest runecrafting experience available in the game currently.

It is recommended players have access to the Magic Imbue spell, requiring completion of Lunar Diplomacy and a 82 magic level. As it removes the need for an earth talisman.

Use your best weight-reducing equipment, and a ring of dueling to teleport to the Fire Altar (duel arena teleport) and back to Castle Wars bank.

Experience rates are shown below. It is possible to gain up to 110,000 experience per hour doing solo lava runecrafting.

Lava Runners

Players with an abundance of wealth and gp can opt to greatly increase experience rates through the use of “runners”.

This method involves paying other players (generally 3 – 4 runners) to run essence to the altar for you. With 3 runners experience rates are around 180k per hour, scaling up to around 240k with 4 runners. Each runner typically costs between 5 – 10m gp per hour, depending on experience. Making it one of the most expensive training methods in the game.

Alternative Methods

While Lava Runecrafting can be extremely good experience it is often known as one of the most intensive forms of runecrafting training. Below you can find some strong alternatives for training the runecrafting skill.

Ourania Altar: level 1 – 99

The Ourania Altar, also known as ZMI offers competitive experience rates. But, is far less intensive when compared to combination runes such as lavas. This altar is unique, as it will convert your essence into a random selection of runes. This makes it a profitable method, with profits and experience rates scaling at higher levels. At High levels players can expect around 400-550k profit per hour. Experience rates are shown below in the chart.

Completion of Lunar Diplomacy is necessary for this method. As players will need access to the Ourania Teleport on the Lunar Spellbook. In addition, runes for the teleport as well as NPC contact are required. As you will need to repair pouches via the contact spell.

World 480 and world 327 are the official worlds for the Ourania Altar. They are highly recommended as they reduce the amount of damage taken from aggressive monsters in the cave. Be sure to turn off auto-retaliate.

Ourania Altar Gear Setup

The optimal setup can be found above. Use as many essence pouches as you have available at your current level. Furthermore, if you have 96 Magic and A Kingdom Divided complete, you can use Spellbook Swap to cast Vile Vigour. This Arceuus spell will replenish your run energy for prayer points. You can replenish prayer by using the Altar at the teleport location outside the Altar. Removing the need for stamina potions, however, if you do not have access to this, then sipping a dose of stamina at the bank when you run low or out works just as well.

Blood & Soul Runes: Level 77 – 99

At level 77, players unlock the ability to runecraft blood runes in Arceuus, and soul runes at level 90. It provides worse experience than lavas and ZMI. However, can provide some small profits and is known for its very low levels of intensity, providing a highly afkable method for Runecrafting. Players can expect between 35,000 and 40,000 experience per hour running blood runes. With, around 48,000 experience from soul runecrafting at level 90.

For this method start at Arceuus essence mine. Bring a Pickaxe and a chisel. Mine a full invent of dense essence blocks. Take them to the Dark altar and use them there. Then chisel the blocs and head to the respective Runic altar to gain runes and experience.

With this method you will also gain passive experience in Crafting and Mining. From 77-99 runecrafting using bloods and souls, you will gain around 1,646,000 Crafting and 1,235,000. So, if you plan to do this method it may be worth doing it before you reach 99 in those respective skills.

Guardians of the Rift: Level 27 – 99

Guardians of the Rift is a minigame for Runecrafting. It offers a much more engaging way to train the skill and is also fairly efficient, offering competitive experience rates. Similarly to Arceuus Runecrafting this method also gives a similar rate of passive crafting and mining experience. Hourly rates can be found below.

Completion of the Temple of the Eye quest is required to participate in the Minigame. For the best experience rates, use your best available pickaxe and as many essence pouches as you can.

How to play Guardians of Rift minigame in OSRS?

Grab a weak cell and 5-10 uncharged cells before the start of the round. Then follow this step-by-step;

1. Create barriers or a Guardian if necessary
2. Run down east slope towards the large remains
3. Mine 140 to 180 fragments
4. Craft essence until the second altar, then use an altar
5. Enter the portal and mine till your maximum
6. Redeem stones and charged cell
7. Use an altar, redeem stones/cells and deposit your runes
8. Craft 40 essence and use another altar.
9. Repeat steps 5-8 until the end of the round

Use NPC contact between the rounds to repair your pouches when required.

Prayer Training in OSRS

This is a complete guide to help you achieve level 99 Prayer as quickly and efficiently as possible in old school runescape. Prayer is a buyable skill, which allows for super fast training methods. In excess of up to 1 million experience per hour with some methods. However, usually at a cost of a lot of gold, to pay for the bones/materials used.

Offering bones to the Altar

Prayer is a fairly simple skill to train, offering little variety in general. By far the most popular method for training prayer is using Altars. There are two main Altars people use; Gilded Altar and the Chaos Temple Altar. Each has its advantages and disadvantages.

Gilded Altar

The fastest way to train Prayer is by offering bones to the gilded altar. As the altar provides 350% experience per bone. These altars can be built in a player-owned house. If you do not own one yourself it is possible to use another players. You can often find people hosting house partys at World 330, Rimmington house portal.

With good banking players can generally offer around 2,550 bones per hour. If using the highest tier of bone (superior dragon bones) players can receive up to 1,350,000 experience per hour in Prayer.

Chaos Temple Altar
