Making Tar
The Herblore skill centres around the creation of potions in OSRS. The Druidic Ritual quest must be complete in order to make potions. Potions are made, usually with a herb and a secondary ingredient, such as Red Spiders’ eggs or Potato Cactus.
Making potions is by far the fastest way to train the Herblore skill in OSRS. With experience rates up to 450k an hour with the most efficient strategies.
Attack potions grant up to 60,000 experience per hour. To make each potion players will need a Guam potion (unf) and Eye of Newt. Each finished potion provides 25 Herblore exp.
Prayer potions grant up to 210,000 experience per hour. To make each potion players will require a Ranarr potion (unf) and Snape Grass. Each finished potion provides 87.5 exp.
Super Restore Potions grant up to 350,000 experience per hour in Herblore. Each finished potion provides 142.5 exp. To make each potion players will require Snapdragon potion (unf) and Red Spiders’ Eggs.
Saradomin Brews provide up to 450,000 experience per hour. The Fastest Herblore experience rates in OSRS currently without tick manipulation. A Toadflax potion (unf) and Crushed nest is required to make the finished potion, granting 180 exp.
Some players chose to not follow the fastest methods to 99. Usually for cheaper methods, some of which can be found below.
Making super combat potions requires all 3 of its counter-part potions; Super Attack(4), Super Strength(4) and Super Defence(4). This in combination with a Torstol will grant users 150 exp.
This method is used as it is normally far cheaper than Saradomin Brews. But, still offers competitive exp rates of 325,000 per hour.
Making tar is a very afforable method that requires a far lower intensity of training. With far fewer clicks required, and longer time spent between banking actions.
However, experience rates take a hit due to this, which can be seen in the table below.
